Life in Lubbock

I've been here in Lubbock for a little over a week, and so far things have been pretty cool. I've already learned a lot.
Every morning we have chapel starting at 8:35 til 9:20 which is when our classes begin for the day. We sit in class til 4 with a ten minute break for each class and a lunch break in the middle. Most days consist of two classes. Friday is a little different; we have a half day that day which is nice.
Usually when i get home i've been starting on homework right away. I have a big test on Wednesday! Please pray for me that i understand the material and pass it. A lot of people don't pass this first test, so i hear.

This last weekend was our first trip as a group(well half a group. The group was split in half and one half went to Clovis, TX, and the other to Canadian, TX). I went to Canadian. I had a lot of fun there! I met two little girls that i stayed with who are fraternal twins like my sis and me!

Saturday my group helped a family clean up their yard from hail damage and strong winds that blew down a tree or two. Their house's roof was torn up, windows broken, rooms flooded, and a yard full of leaves and branches. It wasn't a pretty site.

While in Canadian our group stopped at a bridge that's about 65-70 feet high and forever long(not really, just seemed like it). It was beautiful! A creek ran under it and a train track beside it. All the sudden i got a random urge to climb to the top. As some of you well know, I love to climb!
So i climbed. I also got another girl to climb with me. We were probably up there for about thirty minutes before we decided to get down. Then a cop showed up. She basically told us that she didn't want to have to be there to clean up a mess of bodies, and not to climb anymore. We politely apologized and said, "Yes, Ma'am."

Through that experience, that girl, Amanda, and i grew closer. :)

Sometimes i don't feel ready for this...like it's too intense for me, but as i was listening to a sermon the other day i felt God assuring me to take courage and to not be afraid. So here i am...ready to learn, willing to be used, and scared of what that really means. lol. I'm so glad i have this opportunity to be here and to be able to dive so deeply into God's word.

Thanks to all of you who are supporting me through prayer and finances, or both! You have/continue to bless me!
